Dear JA Families, 

I hope you had a wonderful long weekend. A big thank you to everyone who donated baked goods and supported our Valentines Bake Sale last Thursday.

Pancake Day Celebration – February 26th

As is tradition, we will be celebrating our own pancake day at Junior Academy on Tuesday, February 26th. All students are welcome to participate however, pancakes must be pre-ordered by this Friday, February 22nd. If your child is interested in receiving pancakes, we will begin serving classes at 8:00 a.m. and stop serving at 8:30 a.m. Students may eat their breakfast in their homeroom classes.

Please see the attached poster and order form if you wish to participate. Forms are due by Friday, February 22nd!

Parent Information Session – Mindful Moments – Feb.27th

Please join us at our next Parent Information Session on Mindful Moments. This session will take place on Wednesday, February 27th at 7:00 p.m. Occupational Therapist, Kristine Locklin and Yoga Practitioner, Christie Chapman will speak about the importance of mindfulness and will also present how we have incorporated Mindful Moments into our school day.

If you plan on attending, please RSVP to Nick Johnson, njohnson@junioracademy.com . Friends and family are welcome.

 

School Photos – March 1st

School photos will occur on the morning of Friday, March 1st and will be taken by Bright Pics Photo Studio. Bright Pics will take a class photo as well as individual photos of each student. All photos will take place in the morning and all students are required to be in Full Dress. Following the photo session, Bright Pics will contact you with information about ordering photos online.

 

School Dance – March 1

Our Fourth Annual J.A. DANCE PARTY is a little over a week away, taking place Friday, March 1st, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. From 6:00-6:30, students will be served pizza in their classrooms and adult pizza and refreshments will be available in the library. The dance will commence at 6:30, hosted by DJ Trevor who comes to us from Interactive Entertainment. Please note that tickets will need to be pre-purchased for this event so please complete the forms that are attached and return them by Wednesday, February 27th! Friends and family are welcome.

This year, the theme of our dance will be “A Colour Party” and we welcome all participants to dress in as many bright and vibrant colours as they can for the event.

If parking in the school lot is full, please park on Arjay, the side street to the south of us.

 

After School Clubs – Spring, 2019

Attached is information about the after-school pay clubs that will be offered this spring. In order to guarantee you child’s place in the club, we encourage you to register early.

Save the Date!!! – Bowling Night on April 4th

Our JA family bowling night is scheduled for Thursday, April 4th, from 6:30 -7:30 pm. Please dust off your bowling shows and mark the date down. More information will be sent home prior to March Break.

 

March Break Camp – Casma: March 11th– March 15th 

CASMA Camp is offering a March Break Camp from March 11 - March 15 at Junior Academy. Activities will include basketball, soccer, art and chess. Please see the attached sheet for more information and registration details.
