Dear JA Families,

It was wonderful seeing several of you at our Halloween parade this morning. I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable evening of trick-or-treating!

Annual Fund

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this year’s Annual Fund Campaign. If you haven’t made your contribution yet, there’s still time! We hope that all families will make a contribution suitable to their individual circumstance.

Remembrance Day Assembly

Our school’s Remembrance Day assembly will be held next Thursday, November 8th, beginning at 8:45 a.m. in the gym.  Mr. Sidler will lead the Remembrance Day assembly, along with students from various classes. Parents are welcome to attend and all students are required to be in Full Dress for the assembly.

Mid-Term Break

It’s hard to believe that our mid-term break is only one week away. Please note that the school will be closed on Friday, November 9th and Monday, November 12th for our mid-term break. I hope that everyone enjoys some well-deserved time off.

RFRK Lunch

Over the last couple of weeks we have had some students join the existing Lunch Club. If you haven’t signed up for the Real Food for Real Kids Lunch Program and are still interested, you may still register by visiting: https://lunchclubs.rfrk.com/collections/junior-academy

A reminder to all families who are using the program, please be sure to send your child with a re-usable container as well as utensils.

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair will be November 26-28 in our library. We are looking for parent volunteers to help us with this event. There are 2 ways to help out!

Set Up Volunteers - This would take place on November 23rd, starting at 2:00 p.m.

Cashiers - We need several parents to act as cashiers for the students purchasing books. There are 2 shifts each day; 8-8:40am and 3 - 4:30. You do not need to sign up for an entire shift, we can split shifts between volunteers :)

This is a very popular event that not only promotes reading at home, but also provides new books to our classrooms and library.

Please contact Cathy Hibbert, chibbert@junioracademy.com if you are able to volunteer.

QSP Magazine Campaign

There is only one week remaining in our yearly QSP magazine fundraiser. If you are interested in ordering, you can support our students by shopping online. Just go to www.qsp.ca! All orders will count toward the student rewards and every purchase benefits our campaign. Remember, this fundraising campaign ends on November 8th!
