Dear JA Families,
A reminder that there is no school this Friday and Monday, due to the Family Day long weekend. As it is a time to rest and enjoy being with family, no homework is assigned and there are no tests or assignments due the first day back after the break.
Valentines Bake Sale – Tomorrow!
Our JA Bake Sale will be held on Thursday, February 14th before school. We are looking for parents to help sell baked goods on the day of the event and we are asking for donations of baked goods to sell. If you are able to help with this event, or if you can send in some baked goods, please email Ms. Stark to let her know. (zstark@junioracademy.com)
Students are also offered the opportunity to wear free dress on Valentines Day if they wear (a top with) red, white or pink. Students who do not wish to participate in wearing Valentines colours will be expected to wear their regular uniform.
School Photos – March 1st
School photos will occur on the morning of Friday, March 1st and will be taken by Bright Pics Photo Studio. Bright Pics will take a class photo as well as individual photos of each student. All photos will take place in the morning and all students are required to be in Full Dress. Following the photo session, Bright Pics will contact you with information about ordering photos online.
Dance – March 1st – Save the Date
We are pleased to announce the forth annual J.A. DANCE PARTY on Friday, March 1st, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. From 6:00-6:30, students will be served pizza in their classrooms and adult pizza and refreshments will be available in the library. The dance will commence at 6:30, hosted by DJ Trevor who comes to us from Interactive Entertainment. Please note that tickets will need to be pre-purchased for this event. Look for an order form coming home soon!
We are looking for parent volunteers who can help decorate the gym and library for this event. If you are able to help, please contact Nicole Doiron at ndoiron@junioracademy.com
Parent Information Session – Mindful Moments
Please join us at our next Parent Information Session on Mindful Moments. This session will take place on Wednesday, February 27th at 7:00 p.m. Occupational Therapist, Kristine Locklin and Yoga Practitioner, Christie Chapman will speak about the importance of mindfulness and we will also present how we have incorporated Mindful Moments into our school day.

Pancake Day Celebration – February 26th
As is tradition, we will be celebrating our own pancake day at Junior Academy on Tuesday, February 26th. All students are welcome to participate however, pancakes must be pre-ordered by Friday, February 22nd. If your child is interested in receiving pancakes will begin serving classes at 8:00 a.m. and stop serving at 8:30 a.m. Students may eat their breakfast in their homeroom classes.
Please see the attached poster and order form if you wish to participate. Forms are due by Friday, February 22nd!
After School Clubs – Spring, 2019
Attached is information about the after-school pay clubs that will be offered this spring. In order to guarantee you child’s place in the club, we encourage you to register early.
