Dear JA Families,
Yesterday’s pancake breakfast was a huge success and I would like to thank Ms. Jakymyc for coordinating this event.
Our swim team was out for their second meet at U of T yesterday. They represented our school exceptionally well and a huge congratulations goes out to all swim team members.
Our co-ed basketball team will play their final game here at home tomorrow at 3:30. It has been exciting to watch them and we wish the team well tomorrow.
It’s hard to believe that there is just over a week left until the March Break. Please note, term two report cards for grades 1-8 will be sent home on Friday, March 8th. Our next round of interviews are scheduled for Thursday, April 11th.
Tonight’s Mindful Moments Parent Information Session –– CANCELLED
Due to the inclement weather, tonight’s parent information session on Mindful Moments has been cancelled. We have already reached out to everyone who previously RSVP’d for this event and we will re-schedule this session for the Spring.
School Photos – March 1st
School photos will occur on Friday morning of this week, March 1st. Following the photo session, Bright Pic will contact you with information about ordering photos online. Additional information has been attached.
Please note that all students are required to be in Full Dress. Please let us know if your child will be absent on March 1st.
School Dance – March 1
Our Fourth Annual J.A. DANCE PARTY is only two days away, taking place this Friday, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. From 6:00-6:30, students will be served pizza in their classrooms and adult pizza and refreshments will be available in the library. The dance will commence at 6:30, hosted by DJ Trevor who comes to us from Interactive Entertainment. Please note that tickets will need to be pre-purchased for this event so please complete the forms that are attached and return them by tomorrow at the latest! Friends and family are welcome.
This year, the theme of our dance will be “A Colour Party” and we welcome all participants to dress in as many bright and vibrant colours as they can for the event.
If parking in the school lot is full, please park on Arjay, the side street to the south of us.
Winter Carnaval – March 5th
Our Annual Carnaval D’hiver will be taking place next Tuesday, March 5th. Activities will commence at the beginning of the day and run until lunch. Please note, many of the activities will occur in the field across the street and students are strongly encouraged to dress in appropriate winter attire.
Talent Show – March 8th
On the last day of term, we are having a talent show wherein students may share a talent with their peers. Students have signed up at school and Mrs. Hibbert will be checking in with acts this week. It is not too late to sign up. Encourage your child to see Mrs. Hibbert if they have a talent to share. (Magic, dance, singing, instruments, etc)
After School Clubs – Spring, 2019
Attached is information about the after-school pay clubs that will be offered this spring. In order to guarantee you child’s place in the club, we encourage you to register early.
Save the Date!!! – Bowling Night on April 4th
Our JA family bowling night is scheduled for Thursday, April 4th, from 6:30 -7:30 pm at Playtime Bowl, 33 Samor Road, North York. Please dust off your bowling shows and mark the date down. Sign-up sheets will be forthcoming.
30th Anniversary Party
As you have seen in past Weekly Wednesday newsletters, we will be hosting a party to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. We have sent out a Paperless Post invite to all families, however, if you have not received one, please contact Matt Johnson, mjohnson@junioracademy.com . Please see the attached poster for details and R.S.V.P. to Matt Johnson. We hope that you can join us for a relaxing evening away from the kiddos, celebrating our thirty-year tradition.
