Dear JA Families,

I would like to introduce a couple of new faces that you will be seeing around our halls. Ms. Rula Shammas is a Child and Youth Worker who will be providing some additional support to a couple of our learning environments. The second new face is Mr. Soriya Jeevananthan who is a Child and Youth Care intern student from George Brown College. We look forward to having both join us at Junior Academy.

The first day of skiing at Heights of Horseshoe was a great success and the students enjoyed their day tremendously.  Please be sure to send the following items to ensure a warm and safe ski day!

Ø Goggles

Ø Neck warmer / Balaclava

Ø Snow pants

Ø Warm mitts

Ø Warm socks

Ø Wear Layers

Ø Pack belongings in a backpack so students can carry their skis to the bus!

Re-Registration Packages

As we begin looking ahead to make plans for next year, we have distributed reenrollment packages to current students.  I would ask that you return the signed forms no later than February 8^th.  If there are any programming questions matters you would like to discuss prior to re-registration, please contact me to set up a time for either a phone call or meeting.

After-School Clubs

A reminder that, if you signed up for a pay club after school, it will begin this week.

30^th Anniversary Party

As Matt Johnson mentioned in an email last week, we will be celebrating our 30^th anniversary this spring and we would like to celebrate. Your feedback about this celebration is important to us. Chinese New Year
We would like to celebrate Chinese New Year at Junior Academy on Tuesday, February 5th.  If this is something you are able to assist with organizing (decorating, providing food, or if you have other ideas), please contact Nick Johnson, njohnson@junioracademy.com .  We will proceed with this celebration pending sufficient volunteers.  

Valentines Bake Sale – February 14^th
As is tradition at Junior Academy, there will be a Bake Sale on February 14^th.  We are looking for parents to help sell baked goods on the day of the event and we will be asking for donations of baked goods to sell.  Each class also decorates a cake which is raffled off on the day of the bake sale.  If you are able to help with this event, or if you can send in some baked goods or a plain, baked cake for classes to decorate, please email Ms. Stark to let her know.  (zstark@junioracademy.com)

Would you like to receive 10% off next year’s tuition?

From now until June, 2019, we will offer 10% off your child’s tuition (one per family) when a new student enrolls at Junior Academy as a direct result of your personal referral.  If you refer a second family who also enroll, an additional 5% will be deducted.
